As an environmental scientist, it is my major concern that natural resources are being exploited for corporate gain and greed, especially at the risk of public safety and health. Please legislate to regulate development, incentivize minimum environmental impact, and provide a fair distribution of environmental benefits. 

As an immigrant-American-Latina conducting climate change research and teaching ecology, I have experienced the importance of diversity, but more significantly as a human being I have learned the importance of compassion. Compassion has no borders and no human being is illegal. Please legislate to protect immigrants from cruelty.  

After seeing females in my family struggling because they did not receive information and counseling about sexual and reproductive health, I have witnessed the importance of reproductive healthcare services: birth control, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, and medically accurate sexuality education. Please legislate to open access to safe, legal, affordable birth control for all people, regardless of income or location.
