Recordant a Figura en una finestra
I could not help seeing a resemblance of this picture with Figura
en una Finestra painting. Or I may just be biased by my Dalí infatuation.
In his painting you will see Dalí’s sister (Ana María) looking out at the window, to the seashore, in the
vacation home that the family owned
in Cadaqués. In my picture, there I am, looking
out through boulders forming a window, to the seashore, in the Baths of Virgin
Gorda. Both windows, vacations, to the seashore, and a boat in the horizon.
Dalí painted several portraits of his sister and all were included in Dalí’s first one-man exhibition, held at the Dalmau Gallery, Barcelona, November 14-27, 1925. These portraits were considered unusual because the face of the subject is hidden. It has been said that Dalí was inspired by Ingres Le Bain Turc (1862). There is also a sketch by Picasso about Le Bain Turc (1968).
So let's remember:
Ingres
Picasso
Simon Kidd
y de parte de Freddy: Juan Rosario (1933)
